Recruiting for your theatre company?
As part of your application you have to find a name for your youth theatre company and seek out company members. For tips on recruiting click here.
How to find your group mentor
SYF asks that each youth theatre company provide a group mentor. It’s up to you who you choose but they could be a teacher, youth leader or other professional who will help support your rehearsal process. For advice on how to recruit a group mentor click here.
What happens and when?
Between applying and the final performance in March 2008 there are workshops, online resources, a 12-step rehearsal plan and much more planned for you. To find out more click here.
What’s the cost?
The registration fee for the Shakespeare Youth Festival is £460 (inc VAT) per theatre company. It can be split between your company members (e.g. if there are 20 of you in a company the cost would be £23.00 per person) or you could fundraise as a group. You may need to cover your own expenses e.g. transport, props, costumes; if your school or youth organisation do not agree to. We’ve lots of advice to give on fundraising so click here for more help.
