Dear all,

Welcome to the North East home page! I hope you've all had a good Christmas and a relaxing break, and I'm really looking forward to seeing you all at the cast workshops in the New Year.

It's very exciting to see that Newcastle Gateshead has been voted the arts capital of the UK (click here to see the BBC News story) and I think it bodes well for a fantastic Shakespeare Schools Festival in the North East region! As always, do keep in touch and let me know how you're getting on. If you've got any photos or stories you'd like to go up here let me know, and meanwhile here's an extract from the latest blog entry from Conyer's School, describing their production:

"... Avon TV are filming their latest reality TV show. A failed head of state is given the challenge of turning an island into a successful holiday resort business. The reps have to rehearse the opening entertainment , the first guests are due, there's a storm brewing and Ariel, Ms Prospero's PA, is under pressure to get it right."

What's your take?

With best wishes

Bridget Floyer
Festival Manager and Coordinator, North East

The director resource packs have now been sent out to all teachers taking part in the Festival. The packs contain all the resources and information you will need (plus probably a little bit extra!).
