Hello and welcome to all 100 schools taking part in the South West!
This is your homepage and is designed especially for you actors and directors. So please do submit the photos, comments, anecdotes you’d like to share. You can email them to me at penelope.middelboe@ssf.uk.com (watch the weird spelling of my surname – it’s Danish so the e comes before the l) so that I can keep the page up to date.
You can also find out all you need to know about the Festival in your region here. If you follow the links on the left you’ll find a list of all the schools and theatres taking part. There are 100 schools taking part in the South West alone – more than in any other year.
I met most of your teacher directors at the MAP workshops in early October and was impressed by your great ideas. After Christmas it will be your turn to be energised by the National Youth Theatre directors so that your Festival performance is inspirational!

The Director Workshops in the South West were led by Jacqueline Kington and Chris Curran, both actors with the MAP Consortium. They had fantastic ideas for performing Shakespeare without a set and the minimum of props and costumes.
