Welcome to our arts and education initiative, Shakespeare International!

We celebrate the global relevance of Shakespeare’s plays through worldwide partnerships, making Shakespeare accessible to young people (11-21yrs) in every possible region. SSF International is also a platform for inter-cultural exchange unified by our young people’s passion for Shakespeare, and we are delighted to invite the world to join Shakespeare International 2009.

Shakespeare International 2009 follows the success of Shakespeare 24, which took place on Shakespeare’s birthday, April 23rd, 2008. S24 began in New Zealand and ended twenty-four hours later in Hawaii, covering 21 of the 24 time zones!

65 youth theatres and school groups from 35 countries staged abridged plays at 7pm in their respective time zones.

The Festival keeps growing as more young people communicate their passion for performing Shakespeare. It all begins with you!
