On April 23rd 2008 we launched our new Shakespeare International event;
Shakespeare 24, an extraordinary worldwide day of performance. Beginning in New Zealand and ending 24 hours later in Hawaii, youth theatres and school groups staged abridged plays at 7pm in their respective time zones today on Shakespeare’s birthday.
Through an annual Festival, Shakespeare International aims to increase
the worldwide interest amongst young people in performing Shakespeare,
on an ever increasing scale in the years leading up to the 2012 London
Cultural Olympiad.
