2010 Festival
Take part in the 10th Anniversary Festival. SSF is a non-competitive, supportive and celebratory opportunity for young people to perform half-hour Shakespeare plays in a local professional theatre. It allows teachers to develop drama skills/new ways of teaching through doing, and gives schools a novel way to raise their profile within the community.
SSF is for everyone. SSF prides itself on supporting any teacher with the desire to give the Festival a go. SSF is for all young people – whether they think Shakespeare’s boring or find it difficult to engage in the classroom, or are high achievers and love acting. It’s for class groups (e.g. Yr 7, English and Drama GCSE and BTEC Drama) and out of school groups, for young people who have never acted before, are learning English as an additional language, or have difficulties and disabilities. The Student Directed plays are also designed for sixth formers.
